The Prairies Scene
Good Game Edmonton is expanding its reach across the region to find the stories about the people, organizations, and other groups driving the games scene forward. GG Prairies will be an ongoing series covering the games and esports scene across the Canadian Prairies and into British Columbia. Along the way, we remain dedicated to making new connections and building meaningful relationships as we contribute to the storytelling of these spaces.
From developing games to hosting esports in the classroom and throughout the community, there’s plenty of things happening for us to dive into. Saskatchewan has an active game development community running annual game jams in Regina and Saskatoon through SaskInteractive. Manitoba's Scholastic Esports Expo brings school-aged competitors together in Winnipeg each year. BC has events like Battle of BC and CEGIS anchoring both the consumer and business side.

From high school rosters to open brackets, competitive play is growing across the Prairies. The talent is here. The infrastructure is catching up.
Communities
Player communities exist across the Prairies in places that don't always get coverage. Discord servers, local meetups, and genre-specific groups are out there. GG Prairies is looking for them.
